U Haul was founded in 1945 by Leonard Shoen. He started the first U Haul business in his wife’s family’s garage. Now the company has expanded to approximately 16,000 locations and has hired around 18,000 employees. The company was reported to bring in about 4 billion dollars in revenue in 2006.
